The Difference between Pornography and Meet for Sex Sites
In a recent study, sociologists suggest that the min threats to America are not what you expect. Now, if you ask the average American what the number one threat to America is, a lot of them would say terrorists. Others would say the fucked up economy. A minority would say all sorts of other things. These other things, of course, range from racism to systematic oppression to sexism, etc., etc.
Often most visibly lost in the shuffle is the finding of the researchers. They said that the number one threat to American culture is pornography and its effect on the male psyche. Now, I don’t want to get into hyper feminism with you now but it’s always been a standard theme in the classic feminist canon that pornography is a form of rape. By objectifying women, pornography degrades women and robs them of their humanity.
Since rape is the ultimate act of robbing somebody of their humanity, then the argument can be made that rape and pornography are pretty much one in the same. Regardless of how you stand on that issue, this kind of thinking and linkage is actually quite real as far as the behaviors of modern American men are concerned.
However, it did not play out in the same way as radical feminists predicted it would in the 1970s. It turned out that thanks to the ubiquity of pornography, men have preferred virtual sex to real sex. You have to understand that real sex can be messy because dealing with real people is messy. If you’ve ever worked at Wal-Mart or McDonalds or any type of frontline job, you know exactly what the fuck I’m talking about.
When you deal with people, you have to put your smile on. You have to put your best game forward and you have to resolve to take a lot of shit. In other words, you have to grim and bear it. A lot of guys, who were born from the early 90s onwards, are saying fuck that to all that stuff. Really, what they’re saying is that I can retreat to my World of Warcraft. I can retreat to my virtual reality like DOTA2. I can retreat to my Pokemon Go or some sort of virtual reality. And this attitude has translated into the world of sexuality as well as is the case with meetandsex.com
